Defeating the Curse (DTC)

Preseason week 1 is in the books, and on to week 2. In the first preseason game Chase Young had a monster forced fumble, the defense looked great, top 5 is very achievable. Jamin Davis looked a little lost but there is no reason to be concerned, he is a rookie and is learning how to be a star in the NFL> Afterall isn't that what preseason is about? The offense also looked solid. Fitz was Fitz and Heinicke showed that it wasn't just a game and a half but he MIGHT be able to do this for real. Jarret Patterson looks like he belongs in the NFL, and can do a little bit of everything. Listen in to FP and LP discuss their thoughts on NFL preseason game and and look forward to preseason game 2. Joe and Stevie catch up on a plethora of topics as a new football season begins. Fitz is clearly QB1 and everyone SHOULD be ok with that. DC still hurting after the Nationals big trade but how long until they are competitive again? Could the NBA take a page out of the MLB / NHL playbook and have the Nets and Knicks play in Rucker Park? The NBA is slowly dying. Super teams are annoying. Lebron James is out of the playoffs and changing his jersey again. The Wizards made the playoffs but really had absolutely no chance. The Caps are eliminated in the first round once again. WFT is looking more and more like a really, really REALLY strong contender in the NFC. Finally the USMNT had one of the best soccer games of the decade against El Tri.

It DOESN'T matter that they only won 7, it doesn't matter that Hurts was taken out of the game, it doesn't matter that it wasn't pretty. it doesn't matter it just doesn't. It's the NFL and that's what happens. The Washington Football Team is the NFC East Champions, and Alex Smith just wins. 11-5 as a start in Washington, he just wins.

Dwayne Haskins had a D- game vs the Seattle Seahawks. One good quarter doesn't negate 3 horrible quarters. Dwayne Haskins had a F- Sunday. His actions after the game overshadowed (in a bad way) his D- Sunday afternoon. The WFT has some big decisions to make this week. We are GLAD Ron is in charge. The Washington Football team has ripped off 4 straight. The defense is playing phenomenal behind the leadership of rookie, defensive player of the year, Chase Young. The offense is actually top 10 over the last 6 games but questions linger with Alex Smith's status being up in the air. Lamar Jackson had to take a deuce during the game, we've all been there, time to admit it.

CoronaVirus continues to crush the souls of sports fans around the world and with no end in sight, the boys at DTC are thankful to be healthy, bitter at the lack of live sports content, and hopeful a cure/vaccine will be found soon. NFL free agency is well underway and the Redskins made an interesting moving nabbing one Carolina QB and trading away a starting DB to a bitter rival in the Pacific northwest. What else do the Redskins need to do this offseason, and if Joey B falls to two in the draft... what would YOU do? #HTTR

Stevie and Joe were literally caught speechless when the #NBA announced the season had been suspended, so they took 10 mins, gathered their thoughts and then turned on the mics! The NBA season may resume with playoffs only based on current seeding, or may have play-in games, who knows, right now however, there will be no more games. European soccer is already halting games as well, travel to Europe is suspended for 30 days, and yes, #CoronaVirus #COVID19 is to blame and not going anywhere anytime soon. Somehow one thing leads to another and the boys end up discussing the democratic primaries, the lack of presidential leadership, the stock market tanking, and what may come next here in DC. This is a unique show from two people doing their best to work through all the information and share their personal thoughts without fanning the flames of fear. We will be ok America. Stay Strong. (and wash your hands!)

For many of us the passing of Kobe Bryant and his daughter still seems surreal. She was going to be better than her dad in his own words and sadly the world will never get to see that happen... and as for Kobe... we grew up with Kobe and even though we never met him he felt like family. We saw him enter the league as a teenager, dominate as a man, and retire as an icon. What we didn't know was just how profound of an impact he was making outside of the public eye... and as the stories start to be shared now that he has passed one thing is absolutely certain... the legend of Kobe Bryant will never die.
