Defeating the Curse (DTC)

Stevie Joe and Razzle revisit week 1 from around the NFL focusing on the teams that looked terrible, like the Packers and WFT, and the teams that looked amazing, like the entire NFC West! The boys break down the WFT loss at home to the Chargers and then turn their attention to the Giants with that week 2 matchup looming in just 48 hours! Antonio Reyes, who covers the Giants, joins the show and just like last week, continues the trend of guests picking WFT to win in a close one. Can Taylor lead this offense to victory? Can Chase and the WFT defense get right on Thursday night? There is much to discuss!

Happy Football! The 2021 season has begun with a fun one in Tampa Bay. The Bucs beat the Cowboys to start the season but the Bucs didn't look that great, and the Cowboys looked much better than expected... so naturally, there was a little panic in Washington as Dallas doesn't face a playoff team for another 10 weeks! Stevie, Razzle, and Joe breakdown the opening night matchup and look forward predicting division and conference champs with a few surprise pics for the Super Bowl as well! Happy football!

Week 1 is here! Chargers are heading to DC to face the Football Team and this is the only show you need to listen to get ready! Special guest Lucas (@sugarfreelucas) from the TUFF Podcast joins the DTC crew to talk details about Justin Herbert's progress this offseason, Austin Ekeler becoming Alvin Kamara-lite, and why the Bolts could be a 10 win team. He also had some very nice things to say about WFT and didn't think Joe was insane for his 12 win prediction... If you have 30 mins and want to get ready for game 1 hit play and enjoy!

The DTC 2021 season preview show is here! Stevie, Razzle, and Joe breakdown the entire season, wins/losses, and everything in between. Spoiler alert: all three of them have the WFT over 8.5 wins (lock that bet in now) and all three have them winning the NFC East as well! Tune in and get caught up on everything you need to know before the season begins! Hail to the Football Team! #HTTR

The final 53 has been set, for now. The surprise cut around the league is certainly Cam Newton, but WFT had some surprise cuts as well. Jimmy Mooreland, Jeremy Reaves, Antonio Gandy-Golden are just some to mention. Sure they were probably back of the roster guys but they have also played significant time in Washington. Is this a sign of the depth of the team this year? Ron Rivera says they are not done at LB, but who are they targeting? Plus who are you taking at number 5 in your fantasy drafts? FP is taking CEH....uhhh ok. We'll leave it at that. Listen, Like, Share and Follow @defeatthecurse on twitter.

P.S. Who is taking Angola over Egypt at +700?

Fire up the mics and lets go! Stevie and Joe are in the booth discussing preseason football, the WFT deep (super deep) list of pass catchers, the Nationals (un)surprisingly exciting youth-movement, Lebron getting zippy MVP votes, and we share our top 5 replacement names for the Football Team. Stevie shared a few original names including one #GameOfThrones themed name, and Joe shared a bunch of classics including Hogs and Valor! Tell us which you prefer! The show wraps with a chat on world events/current events ... everyone will learn something on this episode of the pod. Subscribe and share!

Preseason week 1 is in the books, and on to week 2. In the first preseason game Chase Young had a monster forced fumble, the defense looked great, top 5 is very achievable. Jamin Davis looked a little lost but there is no reason to be concerned, he is a rookie and is learning how to be a star in the NFL> Afterall isn't that what preseason is about? The offense also looked solid. Fitz was Fitz and Heinicke showed that it wasn't just a game and a half but he MIGHT be able to do this for real. Jarret Patterson looks like he belongs in the NFL, and can do a little bit of everything. Listen in to FP and LP discuss their thoughts on NFL preseason game and and look forward to preseason game 2. Follow us on Twitter @DefeatTheCurse and let us know what you think of this team.

Joe and Stevie catch up on a plethora of topics as a new football season begins. Fitz is clearly QB1 and everyone SHOULD be ok with that. DC still hurting after the Nationals big trade but how long until they are competitive again? Could the NBA take a page out of the MLB / NHL playbook and have the Nets and Knicks play in Rucker Park? What is old is new again! +the debut of our new show intro! (still working out some technical details... but we are excited to be back in the booth creating content!)

Washington Football Team preseason is here! How much will the starters play? Who are you looking forward to seeing this Thursday? LP and FP discuss on the pod.

After a long winter (many years long) Joe and LP fire up the mics to discuss a plethora of topics ranging from the NFL vax policy to the USA winning the Gold Cup to the Olympics, Euros, the NBA shifting landscape with the Wizards involved in a blockbuster trade, and expectations for the Football Team... could they win the NFC East by more than 2.5 games? ...recorded live... welcome and enjoy!

The NBA is slowly dying. Super teams are annoying. Lebron James is out of the playoffs and changing his jersey again. The Wizards made the playoffs but really had absolutely no chance. The Caps are eliminated in the first round once again. WFT is looking more and more like a really, really REALLY strong contender in the NFC. Finally the USMNT had one of the best soccer games of the decade against El Tri.

Join in as get all set for another DC playoff run. Caps/Buins Wizards/TBD. The Caps are certainly dealing with some lingering injury issues but most look ready to go come Saturday. FP and LP discuss all things Caps/Wizards in the playoffs and a little Washington Football Team Talk. What would you give up for ARod? Let us know @DefeatTheCurse

The Bucs and the Chiefs are in; the Packers and the Bills are out. Matt Lefleur with a major coaching mistake, does that signal the end for Aaron Rodgers?  Is the WFT set to make a run at Matt Stafford? The NFL offseason is about to heat up but not before we see a matchup of 2 of the best QBs to ever play the game? Who do you got? What are the best picks for the superbowl as we are finally LIVE with sports betting in Virginia, Thanks Fan Duel!

Yes! That's right Washington has a home playoff game! Join in with FP and LP preview this weeks matchup with the Tampa Bay Bucs. There's always a chance right? House money, what can Ron Rivera do to win a playoff game? We have some thoughts, but it's going to require a monster game by one specific position group. Join in to hear what that may be. It might not be what you think. Deshaun Watson may want a trade? WFT needs a QB, can they make it happen? We can all dream. Let us know what you think @DefeatTheCurse on twitter.

It DOESN'T matter that they only won 7, it doesn't matter that Hurts was taken out of the game, it doesn't matter that it wasn't pretty. it doesn't matter it just doesn't. It's the NFL and that's what happens. The Washington Football Team is the NFC East Champions, and Alex Smith just wins. 11-5 as a start in Washington, he just wins.

Dwayne Haskins had a D- game vs the Seattle Seahawks. One good quarter doesn't negate 3 horrible quarters. Dwayne Haskins had a F- Sunday. His actions after the game overshadowed (in a bad way) his D- Sunday afternoon. The WFT has some big decisions to make this week. We are GLAD Ron is in charge. Let us know what you think. @DefeatTheCurse on Twitter.

The Washington Football team has ripped off 4 straight. The defense is playing phenomenal behind the leadership of rookie, defensive player of the year, Chase Young. The offense is actually top 10 over the last 6 games but questions linger with Alex Smith's status being up in the air. Lamar Jackson had to take a deuce during the game, we've all been there, time to admit it.

Washington Football team chalks up another W on Thanksgiving day. What does this mean for the rest of the season? Do they have an actual chance to win the NFC East? The Eagles, Giants, and Cowboys are also a mess but are they worse off than the WFT? Click, like, share @defeatthecurse on twitter.

The bye week is here and so is the election. Listen in as we welcome back Joe and 20. The WFT beat Dallas for the first time in it seems like 10 years! But does it really matter? The division is so bad, could the winner of the division be a 6 or 7 win team? It sure sounds like it.
The pod then shifts to what's probably on everyone's mind the 2020 election is just days away. Do your part and go vote!

EXPLICIT - Beacause sometimes it needs to be done. Riverboat Ron deserves some criticism on the horrible call to go for 2 at the end of the game. The WFT was marching up and down the field and the NYG were not, there was no reason to go for 2. Join LP and FP on this pod to discuss the call and let us know what you think at @DefeatTheCurse

How bad is this football team? Did they just play a better 4 teams or are they really that bad? Join LP and FP to discuss this very topic. There is no sugar coating it, the WFT is BAD. Offense, Defense and Special Teams. FP and LP break down their versions of the blame pie. How would you split the blame pie? What about the coaching staff? All options on the table because this team is B A D bad bad bad. Tell us what you think on twitter at @DefeatTheCurse. #WashingtonFootballTeam #NFL

HUGE HUGE HUGE news! Dwayne Haskins benched. After only 4 games Haskins has been benched? Is it fair? Is it justified? LP and FP discuss all things the Washington Football Team quarterback. Let us know what you think, did Coach Rivera make the right move? Let us know @defeatthecurse on twitter!

There's been no question that Dwayne Haskins hasn't looked all-pro through three games but should he be benched? Or do we need to practice a little more patience with the young quarterback. LP and FP discuss.

Sports are finally back! NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, and MLS are all back. Sports bubbles are working, MLB is powering through with the NFL to follow suit. Join LP and FP on all things DC Sports is back in 2020. Which DC team has the best chance to bring a title back to DC? Let us know! Listen, Like, Follow, Share!
