Defeating the Curse (DTC)

FP and Joe are heading to VEGAS to see the WFT extend their win streak to four... maybe! Ron was HOT after the big MNF win and with Thanksgiving in the rearview mirror all eyes are on Christmas which means the [fantasy] playoffs are just around the corner ...  you asked, we delivered, fantasy expert Joe Votruba joins the boys to pick second half sleepers! Don't miss this show!

Stevie is back (and pounding cookies) ready to talk #FootballTeam and the potential of meaningful games in December... will there be a playoff push? Joe says "yes" if they split (or win) the next two against the Seahawks then the Raiders... can the WFT reverse the primetime curse? The duo also get into Thanksgiving traditions and Lebron starting another malice at the palace nearly seven years to the day after the first.

The WFT traveled to Carolina to face the Panthers and Ron got the better of his former QB this time. The WFT defense looked steady from start to finish keeping Cam and CMC in front of them for most of the game while the WFT offense ran for more yards than they passed for... interesting!? DC gets a quality win to extend their win streak to two in a row with a MNF matchup against the Seahawks next. Joe talks about it all on this postgame live show LIVE on the Kontender!

The mics are hot as Joe and 20 preview WFT v Carolina... the Ron/Cam showdown + there is a strong disagreement on which teams belong atop the NFL rankings and just how low the Lions could go. The duo also discuss the red-hot Wizards and debate some of the best all-time "guy" TV shows from The League to Ballers and why is everyone obsessed with Curb?

Joe and Anthony dive deep into the WFT's improbable win against the Bucs and try to decipher just how Taylor and the offense managed a 10min drive to ice Brady and the Super Bowl champs. How does a team make TB12 look average? + What Ron Rivera + JDR plan to do now that Chase is out for the season. (Is WFT going to the playoffs!? uh-o!)

The WFT returns to practice after a week away and things are interesting to say the least? Joe and Stevie discuss the timing of the kicker swap (second time this season)... why not make the change last week from Chris to Joey? What is Ron thinking now? + the boys get caught up on Rodgers vs VAX and OBJ vs the league... where will he land... Joe says maybe GB or NOLA, Stevie is big on the Ravens... much to discuss leading up to our preview of Brady coming back to DC in just a few short days; stay tuned!

The WFT is on bye this week which is great news for fans because they can't lose or drive everyone insane on Sunday afternoon. Rivera almost traded for a QB but thankfully it fell apart... thankfully! The league is curious about Rodgers vax status now that he will miss a game or two and the NBA season is a few weeks old now and the Wizards at 5-3 are built to be playing meaningful games post all-star break... right? Join the boys as they discuss it all!

Joe is riding solo and has thoughts on the WFT losing to the Broncos... everyone has to go... everyone! Almost halfway through the NFL season Joe has his top 10 teams to share + should Drew Brees return to the Saints? if not, should Philip Rivers? The World Series is heading to Game 6 (and Joe predicts game 7 too) plus if you live in Virginia, go VOTE on Tuesday! Let's Go Brandon!

Stevie, Mat, and Joe are getting set for the World Series and doing their best to ignore the Football Team and their continued regression. The boys discuss the H-town v ATL match-up plus some prop bets of note including overall home runs for the series set at 18.5... that could be juicy!

The Washington Football Team traveled to Green Bay to face the Packers and ultimately lost by 14 BUT the game could have gone very differently! The great Bill Rohland joins Joe to discuss the game beyond the numbers ... did the defense have their best performance? (yes). Did the offense keep pace with the Packers? (yup, out-gained them actually). Did Green Bay continue their trend of giving up touchdowns in the red-zone? (nope). The Football Team had several chances today to get meaningful points but just couldn't get it done and ultimately drop a tough one to Aaron Rodgers and the Packers on the road. Bill and Joe break it all down and what it means for the WFT as they prepare to face the Broncos in Denver next week.

House committee says it will investigate the NFL's handling of Washington Football team workplace misconduct. Ron moves Landon Collins to linebacker but Landon refuses to be called a linebacker. Odd right? A football player doesn't want to hit guys bigger than him...even more odd. Week 7 bets and props are also on display by FP and LP. Listen, Like, Share @defeatthecurse on twitter.

The WFT is heading to Green Bay to face Aaron Rodgers and the streaking Packers that may win by 35+ if the DC defense cant figure things out quickly. Stevie and Joe take a look around the NFL to identify their top 5 and low 5 + Ron surprises everyone by letting go of Hopkins and his 85% made FG rate... why now Ron? Why? The Dodgers are in trouble but are still alive and the Red Sox might go streaking soon. Does anything compare to playoff baseball!?

The DTC mics are on and the boys are hot about another terrible showing for the Football Team as the defense continues to struggle, allowing 21 points and scoring ZERO in the second half against KC. The retirement ceremony for Sean Taylor was a disgrace and Joe has thoughts about what could have been done differently. Absolute embarrassment. Why does WFT run 5 yard slants on 3rd and 8? Anyone know? Meanwhile the Cowboys are running away with the NFC East. + the Capitals are looking good and the MLB playoffs are amazing!

FP, LP, and Joe look forward to Chiefs v Football Team on Sunday and the defensive masacre that may be awaiting both teams. The trio covers the NFL top and bottom teams as well and the fall out from Vegas now that Gruden has been fired by the Raiders. Finally, the CAPITALS season begins tonight and FP is ready ready ready!

Jon Gruden resigns amidst horrible emails are leaked however Washington Football Team (the source of the emails) remain unscathed. Does this re-open the investigation on Washington Football Team? How many other NFL execs and coaches were also in on this? Where are the Beth Wilkinson findings??? On the field Washington is struggling once again. FP wants Ron Rivera to lay out his plan while LP thinks he doesn't need to report to the media, fans, etc. Which side are you on? This pod gets a little testy between FP and LP, must listen!

FP and Joe share thoughts on the WFT facility being raided as part of an ongoing investigation... whatever is happening, it isn't good. The duo also talk top 5 and low 5 while looking around the NFL and get into all things New Orleans leading up to the battle of the 2-2's.  Alec from the FullPressSaints Podcast and Final Drive on FishBowl radio joins the DTC crew during the second half for an extended deep dive into the up's and down's of the Saints so far this season + Taysom Teasers and prop bets! Thanks for listening!

While the Nationals season is over here in DC the MLB playoffs are just getting started. Stevie, Mat, and Joe preview the post-season while putting to rest a tough year for the Nats + we are watching the Yankees and Red Sox in real-time too! What is Juan Soto worth today? In Rizzo we trust!

The WFT traveled south to ATL to face the Falcons and came away with a victory. Did they play well? Sorta? The Falcons had their moments and the Football Team did as well. 2-2 looks a lot better than 1-3 but they honestly feel the same right now. Chase Young got flagged for a terrible penalty, but the refs gave it back on the next possession. WFT is going to set a record for number of 3rd plays they give up that turn into touchdowns! If that's not a stat, it needs to be! A win is a win... but this doesn't feel great.

Looking to make some $$$? You probably should leave WFT off your betslip. Look no further than FP and LP's Sunday prediction picks. LP and FP dive into each game making their predictions for the spread and O/Us. Looking to make $8,396.37? Pick all the money line picks and you can make that with just a $10 wager. Or Just pick a few and still make some money.

The loss in Buffalo still stings but the show must go on... literally. The boys will discuss what did and didn't work against the Bills, look ahead to the Falcons, and react to a few of coach Ron's soundbites from his weekly radio hit. Also, Peyton/Eli are a perfect alt broadcast that is still under appreciated!

Joe is solo and live on the Kontender network for the WFT Post game show! Washington traveled to Buffalo and got run out of the building 43-21 and in reality it should have been much worse for the Football Team. The offense lacked creativity, the defense lacks everything, and special teams was the lone bright spot but in the end, it was a terrible team performance. The schedule only has a handful of "win-able" games remaining based on the defensive play we have seen in the first three weeks of the season.

Bill Rohland joins Stevie and Joe for a look around the NFL... which teams are trending up, which not so up, and each have one or two teams to watch to keep an eye on as well! Peyton/Eli should be the main MNF broadcast; does anyone disagree? AND keys to a WFT win at Buffalo this weekend as told by our friends at the Not Another Bills Podcast!

Razzle and Joe recap week two around the NFL including a closer look at two NFC east rivals in Dallas and Philadelphia. The duo discuss the sweetness of having the WFT win on Thursday and thus having no threat of a ruined Sunday due to loss AND debate the genius behind the Manning and Manning ESPN2 Monday Night Football broadcast. The second half of the show DTC welcomes Jamie D'Amico from the Jamie D and Big Newt Podcast (SB Nation) who covers the Bills to preview week three and talk about the ridiculous 8.5 spread for the WFT as they head to Buffalo.

Looking to make some $$$ on a Sunday when Washington Football Team has the day off? Look no further than FP and LP's Sunday prediction picks. LP and FP dive into each game making their predictions for the spread and O/Us. Looking to make $9,776.59? Pick all the money line picks and you can make that with just a $10 wager. Or Just pick a few and still make some money. All fun and games, especially when your team is not involved. Hail to the Football Team!

FP, Razzle, & Joe recap the WFT beating the NY Giants in dramatic fashion and discuss the highs and lows on both sides of the ball. Is the primetime curse over!? Taylor Heinicke may have "it" while Daniel Jones seems to only have "it" when he faces Washington. If the WFT is going to have success this season the D-Line has to decide whether they are elite or average or below average... for now a win is a win! #HTTFT
