EP366: Commanders Season is Over; NFL Playoffs Begin; Wiz/Caps Update

Happy New Year! The boys are in studio recapping the final week of the NFL season and making some bold predictions as the playoffs get underway. Stevie shows up in a Trent Williams 49ers jersey but picks the Eagles to win meanwhile FP takes the Bills to win while claiming vehemently that the Jags are the best and hottest team... nothing makes sense! Meanwhile the Wizards are 6-4 in their last 10 games and the Capitals remain competitive although not winning too much right now... happy new year!

EP365: Comms Lose to Cowboys; Eagles Win; Rams Cooling Fast; Minny Fraud

Stevie, LP, and Joe are in studio and ready to say goodbye to 2025 and hello to 2026. The boys start with a weekly discussion of what went wrong for the Commanders (in game and overall for the season) and eventually pivot into a heated back/forth on the hottest team(s) going into the final week of the season. Stevie has a serious obsession and love for Josh Allen and LP.... well, to his credit... he stayed awake and engaged for the entire show! Happy New Year to ALL!

EP364: Commanders Lose; Eagles Win; NFL Playoff Picture; Boxing Might Be Back

FP and Joe are in studio and ready to recap the Commanders loss on Saturday to the Eagles and as they work their way through the full slate of NFL games one thing becomes very clear, the postseason is a toss-up. The Bears looks good, but so do the Chargers... the Bills look to be in control at times but then sputter... same with the Texans, and same with the Patriots... it's wide wide open. The boys also discuss the back to back fight nights on Friday (Netflix) featuring Jake Paul and Saturday (Rumble) featuring Andrew Tate. What a weekend! Merry Christmas to all!

EP359: #Commanders Visit Spain; #Dolphins Win; #NFL Top5 Low5

The #Commanders lost in Spain. DQ made some progress with the defense but the offense struggled and in the end a loss is a loss. The 'skins have a ton of work to do for the rest of this season and into the early part of the offseason to figure out what's what on the coaching staff... plus if JD5 and Terry are available do you have to bring them back? Around the league there are some teams starting to heat up and a few legacy contenders (#Ravens and #Chiefs) that are on the outside looking in but still within striking distance. One week until Thanksgiving folks... next week... pie power rankings! 

EP358: Lions Get Revenge; DC is Cooked; Rams & Ravens Eyeball-Test

Well it happened, the Commanders were crushed by the Lions at home... the season is lost and there is no way to spin this anymore... it's over. As the team prepares to fly out to Spain for their [beatdown] showdown with the Dolphins, FP and Joe try to figure out if there is anything worth watching for... plus, there are a few teams that look to be very very strong and a few that look to be very very weak... the boys put the whole league through the eyeball-test and finally... are you ready to watch NFC East hard knocks in a few weeks? Happy Veteran's Day!

EP357: Seahawks Win; JD5 Out for Season; Doomsday Came Early; World Series Recap; OMC

Well... the season is over. Washington lost on the field and off the field and it is time for fans to lock-in on a new hobby or weekly activity. FP, LP, and Joe revisit the Sunday loss to the #Seahawks and start to process, together, what the rest of the season for the #Commanders might look like. Tough times ahead for AP, DQ, and the entire front office staff as any post-season hopes have evaporated. Meanwhile, MLB just had an incredible month of post-season drama culminating in an enjoyable, classic, wild, awesome World Series and FP and Joe spontaneously launch into a random OMC review of the newest Netflix thriller called House of Dynamite. 

EP356: Chiefs Win; World Series Continues; NBA News; Candy Rankings

The boys are in studio on a short week discussing the #Chiefs victory over the #Commanders on Monday Night and taking a look around the league... things are wide WIDE open! The World Series is awesome and the underdog has a chance, but nobody is awake to see it... the NBA season is underway with some interesting twists including a huge off-court gambling fiasco unfolding in real-time… plus, and with Halloween just days away, the boys rate their top 5 halloween candy! 

EP354: Bears Get Revenge; 'skins [over]Reactions; Top5 Low5; MVP Considerations

The boys are salty after a rainy loss at home to ‘da Bears on MNF. One person in particular is over reacting a bit (guess who?) to JD5’s performance while a few of the guys are just upset that another winnable game was lost. The NFL is absolutely wild through 6 weeks with storylines budding all around the league. We cast our top5 and low5 lots and discuss MVP candidates as we cross past the first third of the season.

EP353: Commanders Beat Bolts; Bill's the Man; NFL Headlines; Ravens Concerns; Top5 Low5

While Lebron is distracting sports fans with another "decision" the boys are in studio recapping the trip to LA, the win against the Chargers, and are making preparations for Monday Night against the Bears. JD5 looked good but Bill looked GREAT. The defense made adjustments and shutting out a team for three quarters is no small feat. The boys also look around the NFL with some surprise moves into and out of the top 5 + the NHL season is about to start... lets go CAPS! 

EP352: ATL Wins; D Stinks; Hill Done; Tie; Top5 Low5; Cord Cutting Chaos; Shutdown City

The boys are bummed after a (non competitive) loss in Atlanta on Sunday. The offense looked anemic and the defense looked ancient... it's over; we're cooked. Nobody wanted to see a 40/40 game end in a tie; Tyreek likely done/done and we look around the league to assess the weekly top 5 and low 5. Plus, YouTube TV might have broken a few guys this week prompting a return to hardwired 4k. 

EP351: Commanders Win; JD5 TM17 Injured; Falcons Stink; Top5 Low5; WWE

The boys are ready to discuss all things NFL including #Commanders new signing and continued kicking woes. There are a few tough questions that fans need to consider about why the offense looked the way it did on Sunday as MM prepares for another week under center. Fantasy football target pickups for the week plus what's more impressive x2 "Colts or Bucs" edition.... and the WWE moved to ESPN with a poorly named and poorly covered PLE... but nobody cares because Cena lost and Brock isn't marketable any more... maybe. EP350: Commanders Get Packed; NFC East; Top5 Low5; NBA Poors

Well... only one panelist had the 'skins losing on Thursday and oof did they look bad with the national spotlight on them. The Cowboys and Giants played a classic; the Dolphins and Raiders looked atrocious, and the league is plagued with injuries... plus, Adam Silver is the worst commissioner of any sport, ever not only calling fans "poors" but also encouraging them to "go watch highlights"... just crazy... this is a wild episode.

EP349: Commanders Beat Giants; Top5 Low5; NFL OverReactions

NFL Week 1 is in the books and the #Commanders opened the season at home with a WIN! The offense looked good; the defense looked better; the #Giants looked terrible. We go around the horn and identify the top and bottom teams in the league and it wouldn't be a new season without some over the top over-reactions to week 1! Lots of NFL talk headed your way on this one! ...also, nobody cares about the #Packers! 
 

EP348: Happy Football; Fantasy Predictions; Clippers Fiasco; OMC: Deja Vu

It's finally here... football is back! With the NFL season schedule in just a few days the boys are in studio for one last time making bold predictions for the Commanders and for the league at large. Did the Clippers do something new or did they get caught doing something everyone does? The boys all watched Deja Vu for OMC and share their personal goals for the upcoming fall and winter season leading up to New Years in January!

Football is so close, literally so close! The boys are on the mics discussing final roster cuts from around the league and locally the biggest news of the summer is Scary Terry has been resigned to a massive 3-year $96mil extension! Cracker Barrel continues to hate its heritage and customers and one cast member finally watched a classic film for the very first time.

FP and Joe miss each other and thus, the mics are turned on for this mid-summer jam session. The boys lament the heat and take some time to get caught up on life happenings and the DC sports scene. Most notably the Commanders are getting their colors back, the Wiz are poised for a postseason push, and the Nationals... ooooof!  The offline chat became the Offseason Movie Club with the boys having a spirited debate about the first half of the Fast & Furious series.

FP and Joe are in the studio (late this week) to talk about a whole bunch of stuff. The #Capitals were eliminated (Go Florida!), the NBA playoffs are enjoyable and the Pacers are literally making history over and over again, the Finals matchups work with a bunch of different combinations depending on your preferred flavor of basketball.. The world said goodbye to Around the Horn after nearly 5000 episodes... this show meant so much to all of us and is largely why sports podcasts are what they are today... 23 years is a wild run!
