EP366: Commanders Season is Over; NFL Playoffs Begin; Wiz/Caps Update

Happy New Year! The boys are in studio recapping the final week of the NFL season and making some bold predictions as the playoffs get underway. Stevie shows up in a Trent Williams 49ers jersey but picks the Eagles to win meanwhile FP takes the Bills to win while claiming vehemently that the Jags are the best and hottest team... nothing makes sense! Meanwhile the Wizards are 6-4 in their last 10 games and the Capitals remain competitive although not winning too much right now... happy new year!

EP363: Commanders Win; JD5 Shutdown; NFL Top 5; FIFA Problems

FP, Andy, and Joe are in studio to cover the Commanders win over the Giants and looking forward they make a few predictions for the rest of the season. JD5 is confirmed to be "SHUT DOWN" and Joe asks, why isn't everyone else shut down too? Plus Andy has a wild NFL Top 5 and the boys discuss the two ongoing FIFA problems specific to lack of affordable tickets and the upcoming PRIDE match in Seattle between two very friendly nations (Egypt & Iran). FP, Andy, and Joe are running the three man weave talking about all things NFL and specifically the Commanders embarrassing loss to the Vikings. The boys discuss DQ, the front office, the league at large and settle on one team as the best of the best... spoiler, its the Rams. Additional topics include the College Football Playoffs and Notre Dame saying "no thanks" plus the F1 season comes to end and FP has some strong thoughts!

EP359: #Commanders Visit Spain; #Dolphins Win; #NFL Top5 Low5

The #Commanders lost in Spain. DQ made some progress with the defense but the offense struggled and in the end a loss is a loss. The 'skins have a ton of work to do for the rest of this season and into the early part of the offseason to figure out what's what on the coaching staff... plus if JD5 and Terry are available do you have to bring them back? Around the league there are some teams starting to heat up and a few legacy contenders (#Ravens and #Chiefs) that are on the outside looking in but still within striking distance. One week until Thanksgiving folks... next week... pie power rankings!

The boys are in studio on a short week discussing the #Chiefs victory over the #Commanders on Monday Night and taking a look around the league... things are wide WIDE open! The World Series is awesome and the underdog has a chance, but nobody is awake to see it... the NBA season is underway with some interesting twists including a huge off-court gambling fiasco unfolding in real-time… plus, and with Halloween just days away, the boys rate their top 5 halloween candy!

This is a big episode for the show... the #Commanders stalled in #Dallas against the #Cowboys and the problems and injuries are adding up fast... might the season be slipping away? The Wold Series is set; #Drake v #KLamar ie BlueJays v Dodgers and the NBA Season officially begins... the boys have some bold predictions for the local team and the league at large... plus, the #Caps started their season very well! EP354: Bears Get Revenge; 'skins [over]Reactions; Top5 Low5; MVP Considerations

The boys are salty after a rainy loss at home to ‘da Bears on MNF. One person in particular is over reacting a bit (guess who?) to JD5’s performance while a few of the guys are just upset that another winnable game was lost. The NFL is absolutely wild through 6 weeks with storylines budding all around the league. We cast our top5 and low5 lots and discuss MVP candidates as we cross past the first third of the season.

EP353: Commanders Beat Bolts; Bill's the Man; NFL Headlines; Ravens Concerns; Top5 Low5

While Lebron is distracting sports fans with another "decision" the boys are in studio recapping the trip to LA, the win against the Chargers, and are making preparations for Monday Night against the Bears. JD5 looked good but Bill looked GREAT. The defense made adjustments and shutting out a team for three quarters is no small feat. The boys also look around the NFL with some surprise moves into and out of the top 5 + the NHL season is about to start... lets go CAPS! 

Caps Eliminated; Around the Horn Goes Dark; NFL Goes International; OMC: Cable Guy

FP and Joe are in the studio (late this week) to talk about a whole bunch of stuff. The #Capitals were eliminated (Go Florida!), the NBA playoffs are enjoyable and the Pacers are literally making history over and over again, the Finals matchups work with a bunch of different combinations depending on your preferred flavor of basketball.. The world said goodbye to Around the Horn after nearly 5000 episodes... this show meant so much to all of us and is largely why sports podcasts are what they are today... 23 years is a wild run! The boys are suffering through a strong "DC CURSE" week and it shows on their faces and in their voices. The #Capitals are on the brink of elimination, the #Wizards had a chance to rebuild fast but now can't, the #Nationals can't seem to win back to back games, and the Commanders have a billion primetime games... we know how that goes... just a tough tough week for DC sports fans. Oh many what a week in DC! The Commanders got a deal done with DC to redevelop RFK and the renders look amazing! The NFL draft came and went with so many compelling storylines and "villain" arcs being created, and locally the team did a mediocre/great job... depending on whom you ask! The NBA Draft lottery is a week away, the Nationals don't stink, and the CAPS are trying their best to not-screw-things-up! Plus the boys watched the Accountant for OMC! What a week, what a show!

There is a trio in the studio discussing the NHL and NBA playoffs after a spirited "holiday" debate. Turns out Joe was so annoyed with WrestleMania he demanded the cast not discuss it, meanwhile Andy and FP defend the Capitals squandering a two goal lead as "business as usual"... BUT still expect them to win and win big in game two and beyond. Finally, OMC breaks down 2010's Sinners and Saints... it was Joe's pick... many many spoilers ahead!

FP, LP, and Joe are in the studio on the mics discussing DC sports and random happenings all over town. The RFK / DC Stadium deal appears REAL, the Commanders are one week away from the NFL draft and thinking ahead they need OL and Secondary help most notably... the Wiz have a 14% chance to land the top pick in the NBA draft and the Capitals are literally LIMPING into the playoffs. Lock it in for this thiccccc episode! The boys are excited because the city is on fire over Ovi and the #Capitals. The team isn't as hot as they were but Ovi did break the record; tied at home, record set on the road, and the belly flop celebration was awesome! A few weeks back a topic was brought up regarding 90's #NBA that's still being discussed, baseball is in full swing with the #Nationals playing better, march madness is finally ending (watching live), and the boys lock in on Val Kilmer as the Saint for #OMC plus Ready Player One... it gets hot, with one person rage-quitting. Yup. Enjoy. 

DC 3 in Action; Ovi Needs 3; March Sadness; Wizards Looking Spicy; OMC True Lies

Bit of a strange one this week with injuries and illness wrecking the cast and crew of DTC. May not be our best show ever, but the streak lives on! It doesn't happen often but all three DC pro teams might lose as of the taping, Ovi stuck on 892 but really coulda/shoula been 893 as the Caps fall flat over last few games, plus, March Mad/Sadness is almost over... can Cooper Flagg + AJ Johnson catapult the Wiz forward? Read that again... yup! They are THAT interesting and the Wiz front office KNOW what they are doing! For the weekly installment of the OMC the boys review 1994's True Lies and pay their respects to the great "Iceman" Val Kilmer... this is a 90min fatty! Enjoy!

The show starts off with a crazy admission from one cast member and his "shower brush"... its wild. And continues with a discussion of ridiculous social media morning routines before pivoting into sports. The #Commanders remain active in free agency adding another WR to a crowded room meanwhile a few states away a divisional rival the #Giants; added not one by two QBs to their roster (29m). We are days away from the NCAA tournament and the endless discussion of brackets... yuck. Joe has officially rebranded March Madness into March Sadness because March is the first month of the year with no NFL action. Aaron Rodgers still undecided about where he will play next season holding the league hostage and more directly Russ Wilson. Locally the Wizards are "un-tanking" and the Capitals are ready ready ready for the post season... plus, the OMC reviews The Usual Suspects (1:03 start) with mixed feedback on the highly acclaimed film.

What is "legal tampering" exactly? ... how are all of these NFL deals being announced just minutes after the tampering period begins? Can anyone explain it? The #Commanders were super active landing a STUD offensive lineman via trade comfortably in his prime and DT "BigDaddy" Kinlaw. Did the #Rams get a little better or a lot better? #Cowboys are doing nothing so far, and the #Colts are spending a lot on defense? Switching to the ice, the #Capitals got a few wins over the past week AND the #Great8 closes to single digits in his quest for the record. Plus, the boys continue the (Offseason Movie Club; min 55:02) OMC discussing 2002's the Count of Monte Cristo... have you seen it?

FP, Andy, Stevie, and Joe are in the studio recapping the week that was in and around DC. Fireworks in real life and in local sports.
